A giclee (pronounced "zhee-clay") a French word meaning "A spraying of ink", is an exact reproduction of the original piece of art work using high resolution digital files. The finished piece has a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and a color range that exceeds that of serigraphy. Displaying a full color spectrum, giclee prints capture every nuance the artist originally intended.
Museum wrapped giclees are stretched in such a way that a frame is not necessary. The canvas is stretched on sturdy 1.5" x1.5" stretcher bars to prevent warping and then stappled on the back, thus no staples are visible. The image covers 100% of the front of the canvas while the sides are painted to a similar pigment of the main image.
